Scholarly Publications

My current research focuses on visual rhetoric in social media. I am also working on a long-term project employing methodologies from the fields of autoethnography, memoir, place studies, and epigenetics.

Recent publications include a book chapter on hashtag activism in the #iLookLikeAnEngineer movement on Twitter, which began in 2015. I am also researching and writing about tomboy representation in visual media such as Instagram.

My most recent publication is Reclaiming the Tomboy: The Body, Representation, and Identity. The book is published by Lexington Books. Co-editors are Dr. Erica Dymond and Dr. Jen Harrison.
